I'm just swirling with anger right now. That, and I feel like I've had a horrible weekend (and it's only Saturday!) It's amazing the jump I went from my fun and joy filled weekend with the Backstreet Boys concert (yes, I'm a teeny) and G-Dub's visit on Monday (pictures and story at my personal LJ!) to this sad and sorry state I'm in today.
I wasn't affected by the hurricane and I'm very thankful. I've donated money and I've been doing research on other ways I can help. However, when I see things such as the below, I can't help but feel that *my* help might not be wanted from people who are so vitriolic.
And they call us sheep? - A posting of Viggo Mortensen's most recent rant and the comments on the first page are primarily "ditto" and "word".
Kanye West is Racist - I hate it when people use the race card. Yes, racism exists, but we don't combat it by calling people who are CLEARLY NOT racists "racists".
Is this really the time to be politicizing? Is this really the time to be placing blame? Should we concentrate on the efforts to get people back home or should we see how many ways we can further divide a country?
I know we should ask questions about why this disaster (post-Katrina aftermath) occured, but at least make sure everyone's taken cared of first.
