NEW YORK - Nearly four years after the collapse of the World Trade Center, Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone will direct a film based on the story of two police officers who were trapped in the rubble on Sept. 11, 2001.

Nicolas Cage, who won a best-actor Oscar for "Leaving Las Vegas," will star as Port Authority police Sgt. John McLoughlin. McLoughlin and fellow officer William J. Jimeno became trapped during rescue efforts after the collapse of the twin towers.

Paramount Pictures said the movie is expected to be released next year.

Oh please no! No good whatsoever can come of this. What should we do? Write letters, boycott, something, anything?

Hi all,

I got together with some of my friends last night (partly conservative, partly liberal) and, being the truly evil person that I am, I mentioned that the U.S. has had the lowest unemployment rate in 4 years and that France has an unemployment rate of 12% mainly because of how the Frency run businesses in France. We went on in this vein for a few minutes, mentioned the Irish economy and how it's booming because it's NOT following the French and German model. After a few more minutes, my flamming liberl friend, who was already starting to foam at the mouth, informed me that the U.S. economy wasn't as rosy as I had painted it and that the French model of doing business wasn't as bad as I said it was.

I asked her how she knew, (like if she had any friends who lived in France) and she replied "I work for a French company!"

*shakes head*

I suppose it's a bad thing that I like to bait liberals like her but sometimes I can't resist, I really can't. She can be an interesting conversationalist as long as you hew to her version that we're all doomed and going to burn in hell forever. (Not kidding, she has a very negative view of the world)

On other hand, I do like talking to my other liberal friends who are more than open to good discussion of the issues this country is facing today. We have some really good debates and we both get a lot of them.

But, sometimes, you just can't resist.
