Hey all,
I saw this book review in The Wall Street Journal and I just had to post it here. If I had the money, I'd buy a copy. As it is, I'll be borrowing it from the library.
The book is The Vast Left Wing Conspiracy by Byron York. (Who I swear works --worked?-- at CBS Evening News) The book is published by Crown Forum.
The blurb under the picture of the cover says How a big, rich and well-organized political movement failed.
Since there is no way I'm typing the whole review in, I'll just summerize and y'all are free to go to The Wall Street Journal's website and look for book reviews or any booksellers webpage. Ab
About mid-way through the review the author states It is the anger that does them (liberals) in. Hello! He speaketh the truth! When was the last time you met a happy liberal? (If I met one, I'd wonder who'd he'd just sold down the river to make himself so happy)
Another bit from the review was Especially trenchant is Mr. York's analysis of the Center of the American Progress. Convinced, mistakenly, that modern liberalism's problem was its deficit of soundbites, the think tank gave short shrift to compelling policy ideas
This snippet doesn't need any commentary 'cause I agree wholeheartedly with it.
So, go out and get a copy of the book, if for no other reason than to make your flamming liberal friends foam at the mouth. ;-)
