I'm a complete nerd for even noticing this but I thought I'd share. So, I'm watching all the important VIP's walk out into the stage thingy set up on the western side of the capitol and I'm thinking, "Wow, this is kinda crummy that it's all cloudy and gloomy for the ceremony." No sooner than I said that did Bush enter, and the sun came out. How's that for pathetic fallacy, huh?

So I belong to this little board that is for LoTR fans, and I posted a pic of the whole Bush gang and proclaimed that I was a Bush supporter and happy that today was here. Well, then the ugliness starts. People saying "why did you vote for that liar?" And things about Iraq being a mistake. I am so tired of justfying myself. Do you guys feel the same way, that you have the same arguments over and over to no avail? Any words of wisdom to share with me?

As I listened to George Walker Bush and Dick Chaney sworn in today to hold the office of President and Vice-President, respectively, I was happy. Then as I listened to President Bush address the nation and the world I was near bought to tears in thankfulness that our nation had elected this man, and I was also filled with pride to be an American.

I honestly do not understand the people who fought to keep him from office. Well, I can understand why the truly evil people of this world (thugs, terrorist, dictators, etc) would want to have him defeated, but the honest well meaning un-selfish others of my country that voted against him I really don’t understand.

This is a man that has taken the hard road to confront and apply practical application solutions to many difficult problems that faced our nation, and his track record has shown that he groups together the smartest and wisest to find the best solutions. He is still shocking his opponents in the opposition party because he actually does what he says and follows though on his promises to the people.

Today is a day of great happiness for me, and someday I’m sure when later generations look back and judge us they will call him a great man.

Listening to the radio here at work, and I heard the DJ say that 3 Doors Down (3DD) would be performing at one of the Inaugural parties tonight. Intrigued, I went to their site, and found this blurb:

No idea what their politics are, but it sounds like they've got the spirit of the inauguration and democracy down pat. Good for them! :)

Since you all were recently talking about the politics of LOTR fans, I have one quick question. Does anyone know Sean Bean's political leanings? From what I know of him, he's fairly quiet about it (which is totally fine by me ^ ^ ).

It won't make me like him any more or less but sometimes you just want to know these things about your future husband, right? ;)
