Okay... So I went to the local GOP headquarters to watch the local and national election results come in. How exciting, guys! We've done it - four more!!

Anyway, what was posted on the wall behind me, but that darn black and white picture of Dubya in his jumpsuit from his Air National Guard days. You all know the one...

So I must admit, I went public with my infatuation. I told several people that I couldn't understand why women voted more for Kerry/Edwards... when we've got President Hot Stuff on our side! I then pointed to said picture and said "Come on, you're telling me you totally wouldn't have gone for that in college??"

Guess what? All the women agreed. We're not alone, ladies.

Here's to President Hot S... err I mean Bush!

Thank you all for all of your insightful and soothing comments to my last post (I plan on printing them all). You helped me through a very rough patch last night.

To explain what kind of mindset I was in, this is why I wrote what I did after reading a *FRIEND'S* LJ when it became obvious our Prez was up for four more years:

It has begun. The begining of the downfall of the USA. And it looks like we're going to take every other fucking country with us. I'd move away, but is there any place free from the injustices that this administration is going to inflict on the world? Is any place free from the guilt and shame I feel when I think of myself as American?

I'm taking a shower. R.I.P. Freedom and equality.

I would like to add that she has no links to Gov. or Federal service whatsoever, as opposed to my numerous links to virtually all branches of the military.

Well, as much as I love her, she's just going to have to deal with the facts.

GOD BLESS THE USA AND GOD BLESS OUR PRESIDENT.

ARGH!!! I know I'm not the only one who was frustrated at work/school today. In a time where we should be celebrating the re-election of Pres Bush, I found that most of my day was spent defending him. I work with very liberal Democrats, and it was maddening!! I actually had one guy say that President Bush was most assuredly going to be assassinated now because no one will stand for this injustice. Uhhh..hello? Do you not see the numbers?? I work at a hotel, so whenever I asked a guest how their day was, I got a slew of responses, mostly negative. 'Looks like we have another 4 years of President Idiot to contend with.' 'My day is terrible, I can't believe America is doing this.' I stopped asking after a while. If Kerry was elected, I know that our Coalition would be disappointed, but none of us would act that way toward the Democrats.

To those of you who insist on being complete asses about this whole thing. BUSH WON! GET OVER IT! Yeah you might be mad, but apparently more than half of America didn't think that Kerry could do the job. You are part of the minority. All of your whining cannot help the fact that Bush is our president, so why don't you quit sniveling, stand up and get on with your life. I know it's harsh, but this has got to stop!

Ahem....carry on.

Would it really be too much to ask that you cut your losses, take your defeats with dignity, and maintain a little patriotism and belief in our country?

Apparently it is. All I've heard out of the Left so far today is something along the lines of "OMIGOD IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!! THE SKY IS FALLING!! WE'RE ALL GOING TO BE DRAFTED AND DIE!!

...AND FRANCE HATES US!!"

Well GOD FORBID.

That's right, GOD FORBID 51% of the population chose to reelect President Bush.

GOD FORBID we are liberating people in Iraq. Is the war going perfectly? No. But you know what? Seems to me like folks who are living without the threat of genocide must be a LITTLE better off than they were a couple years ago. Maybe that's just me. And if you don't agree, we should probably go back to WWII and not liberate Germany, either, because hey - they weren't hurting us.

GOD FORBID we have a President who prays, and was reelected largely on moral issues. That's right, the moral majority won.

Guess what - you can't hold the President responsible for everything. Florida passed a parental abortion notification initiative. Eleven states - ELEVEN - banned gay marriage. Wild majorities prevailed. GOD FORBID society has spoken - and we back our President, we believe in marriage between a man and a woman, we believe in family values. Take Congress out of it. Take the Supreme Court out of it. Ask the PEOPLE what we want - and the PEOPLE have spoken.

And if you were wondering how the world feels, for the record: )

The People have chosen a moral, Republican Senate.
The People have chosen a moral, Republican House.
The People have chosen a moral, Republican President.

So, dear friends, get over yourselves. You're out like a fat kid in dodgeball. And for everyone who is anticipating the Apocalypse, and expressing desire to flee to Canada, I have one thing to say:

DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YA WHERE THE GOOD LORD SPLIT YA!

My Nov 3.

I go to art college. :) I'm sure you can imagine what today was like for me. I was lucky enough to have "World Civilization" for my first class this morning, The teacher, surprisingly, was just glad we voted and told us to respect anyone who got elected. But of course did the class listen? After running down for a drink in the cafe, the TV was saying Kerry had conceded. I had to stop myself from dancing around, trying not to look at the glum faces that were staring up at the TV. I got back in the classroom to be greeted with the news that a few kids were moving to Europe now. I'm sure they'll be happy there :)
Next class was worse, however, my teacher was "pissed about the election" and said she couldnt' believe we'd have four more years with "that idiot". "If Bush can do it, anyone can do it" she said, and then proceeded to completely forget about what she was going to say that actually RELATED to our schoolwork. Uh, right, ANYONE can do it! I was consoled with the fact that the coffee cart man apparently was dancing around when the news was announced.

But the thing that bums me out is that I felt that I wasn't allowed to say I was happy for Bush to win - of course, I live in WA (blue state) and go to an ART school IN Seattle (!), where else could I find such a high concentration of liberals? ;) So let me say it now, I'm just so happy that WE WON!!! *hugs everyone* Now who's ready for the Christmas commercials?!? ;)

I've been reading a lot of reactions to this election on livejournal. People saying they're devestated, they're shocked, they hate Bush, etc. And a lot of that is understandable and expected.

But then I read this:

"And the sickest joke of this whole mess is that Bin Laden got the exact opposite of what he wanted to accomplish with his bombings of 9/11. He wanted to terrify the American people and have us pull into ourselves. Instead, he now has to deal with a government that feels it has a mandate from 'God' to make the Arab world a better place. I think the last time this happened it was called the Crusades."

I felt sick. I mean really, physically ill. I nearly cried. How is it that some Americans can think that way? How can people believe that we should appease those willing to kill us in the thousands?

I am utterly disgusted and speechless. And angry.

BTW, another quick post. In class today I heard a lot about "The World". "The world's eyes are on us"; "What does the world think of us"; "This election will change the world."

So what DID the world think of the re-election? )

I wrote this for my own journal, but given what many of us are experiencing I thought i'd be relevent to post it. Enjoy! ...I guess.
Dear fellow Seniors,
Today was very enlightening to me for many reasons. I was reminded very harshly of how little the American public knows and how unwilling they are to learn. Since our teachers spent so much time railing against the South, imperialism, conservatives etc. in the US history classes we were required to take last year, I am aware most of you did not learn much about the constitution or politics. This is very sad because now apparently you think some amendments do not count and others we should focus on without really analyzing what they mean. After all, you all think the Supreme Court should be doing that, an institution that was meant to limit the public's power like the Electoral College. However, most of you ardently believe that the Electoral College is the most evil thing the government has ever done and is a result of some vast right wing conspiracy. Speaking of the vast right wing conspiracy: According to most of you our country has been ruined by this group of machine gun armed uneducated Southern Christian country hicks with IQs below 30. I'm apparently a member of this group, even though I hardly meet all the qualifications. We're supposedly going to restart the draft, burn all gays at the stake, make Christianity the state religion, start the 3rd world war and MORE! Despite the fact that all these things are highly unlikely and illogical you adhere to them. We are threatening the constitution according to you, yet I don't hear much opposition to the fact that it's illegal to own a gun here. I guess some parts of the constitution are more important than others. Oh, by the way, I hear we cheat all the time and Democrats never cheat. The Republican party is the only "party of lies." In fact according to signs in my neighbors’ yards and stickers on Nalgene bottles we didn't even really win the election last time, because of that whole Electoral College thingy we invented. We try to explain that it's been around for a long time, but few will listen. Most of you won't listen to anything we say, mostly because you know we are stupid and incapable of reasonable thought. Some of you won't speak to us at all and evade all contact because you never know what evils we are plotting. You make sure to tell us though how you want to assassinate the president or how you wish all women would rise up and kill men and other such reasonable fancies. I am jealous of all these different groups you have "tolerance rallies" for since whenever we say anything "offensive" you make sure to ridicule us and try to petition the school to crush us and silence our freedom of speech. Most of us are afraid to wear pins expressing our political opinions because we are afraid you'll rip them off our backpacks. Yet backpacks plastered with John Kerry rainbow freedom peace pins remain intact. Not all of you are guilty of this, but it does run pretty rampant and really none of you care. You complain about the "tyranny of the majority" (hat tip: Alexis de Tocqueville) imposed on you by those evil red states, yet you will not stand against it on your own community. Just as "stupid hicks" cancel out your votes and "silence you," we are silenced by the fact we are ostracized for our opinions. This country was in theory a representative democracy, but you want it to only represent the "educated" and the "Michael Moore" fans, which are paradoxically the same group to you. Think about whether you have really ever considered rational thinking, because you accuse us of having religious dogmas, yet your dogmas are often just as irrational. Compare Bush to Oliver Cromwell, tirade against civil rights abuses, and campaign for justice as you may, just always think on things rationally and "defend to your death" even the things you disagree with. It is not much to ask and it would make my life much more bearable.

Sincerely,
An angry conservative
