Among other things, mandatory evacuations are taking place in areas of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and North Carolina. Y'all be safe up there.

Basically, exactly what it says on the tin. So far, from what I have been able to ascertain, no deaths or injuries have been reported.

He essentially said Congress needs to take some steps but offered no suggestions himself. For which we may all be grateful, I should think.
Train-Car Collision in Nebraska Results in One Injury
An Amtrak train hit a car and derailed in Nebraska. Reportedly, only one injury was severe enough to warrant hospitalization and that was considered non-life-threatening. So that's good.

At least sixteen deaths have been reported so far in the apparent suicide bombing. The damage took place mostly in the building's lower floors.

British jets have now joined the attack on a Quaddafi bunker in his hometown in Libya. From the tone of the article, the BBC apparently now thinks the war in Libya makes perfect sense. Or something.

After intense criticism of his response to the tsunami and the following nuclear disaster, Naoto Kan has announced his resignation.

This is down from the 22% reported in 2008. The article does give a fair overview of this survey, including potential problems in methodology, but overall, I'd say this is a good sign.
