Ugh. This is absolutely the case. My mom had to join the union to work as a teacher's aide at the local elementary school. A teacher's aide!
She abhors the teachers union and the propaganda she is constantly inundated with as a member. Not to mention that she works with a bunch of zombified progressive union-lovers so she's constantly surrounded by that drivel as well. And her union dues?? Well yay, those go to funding the political campaigns of countless progressive politicians she adamantly disagrees with!
I've also heard that in places where people don't HAVE to join the unions, they are still required to pay union dues (under a different name) so they get their money all the same.
And none of this is even touching on how completely CORRUPT unions are, too.
