This week there is a story that I feel is big enough to justify the use of bold and italics. And I'm afraid that isn't as funny as I wish it would be.

Obama Unveils Yet Another Horrendously Expensive Jobs "Plan"
It is, apparently, vital that it pass quickly. And this time, this government plan will totally work. Seriously, y'all. This is the magic one.
Ex-Cop for US Mint Steals "Error" Coins
To the tune of $2.4 million. Error coins are hot items among collectors due to their rarity, since most are destroyed before they make it to circulation. William Gray has pled guilty to theft of government property and income tax evasion.
Obama's Uncle Released from ICE Custody
Apparently the "backdoor amnesty" policy was applied to him, resulting in his release despite an illegal entry into the States. The article claims this isn't the first time a new immigration policy has benefited an Obama relative. Nepotism would certainly go a long way to explaining the rather schizophrenic approach Obama has taken towards illegal immigration...
Potential Terror Threat for Tenth Anniversary of Patriot Day
This threat has been deemed "credible" and is likely to target New York or Washington D.C. on the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The authorities are seeking a small group of operatives that may include American citizens or legal residents. It is believed that their plan involves use of a vehicle. Ayman Al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden's successor, may have planned the potential attack.

Libyan Loyalist Town Under Attack
Anti-Qaddafi forces are laying siege (probably not literally, but it's a good mental image) to the town of Bani Walid, "one of the last remaining loyalist strongholds." Honestly, do these people even need our help? It doesn't sound like they do.
Taliban Recruiter in Britain Given Life Sentence
Munir Farooqi has been given four life sentences in prison for attempting to recruit people to fight in Afghanistan for the Taliban. Among the charges were "engaging in conduct in preparation for acts of terrorism" and "soliciting to murder." Don't pat the UK justice system on the back, though, since he may be be eligible for parole after serving at least nine years. :(

Mississippi Will Vote on Personhood Amendment
The MS Supreme Court has rejected an ACLU lawsuit to block Measure 26, which would grant personhood to the unborn, saying that any challenges to its constitutionality must come after it is enacted, not before.
Louisiana Abortion Clinic Shut Down
This is the second time this summer that this clinic has been ordered closed by the state.
