Dear Liberals,

There is nothing wrong with loving god and Jesus. In fact there is nothing wrong with being Christian in general.

Oh, totally. Christianity is meant to offend those who don't believe in the same views/values/whatever. In a world of tolerance (which really isn't true and I've come to despise that word) they just can't stand someone who says they're just plain wrong.

There is also nothing wrong with not believing in those things, and still thinking that the 10 Commandments are pretty good rules to live by, devinely given or not. Hehehe. That weirds them out like NOTHING else. (Weirds-out some Christians, too, come to that. LOL)

WORD. And you know, I especially love how they use the word 'tolerance' in every possible context. Tolerance, indeed. /sarcasm

Yeah. They have tolerance for everyone except Christians :-P

The "logic" (hee hee hee) goes like this: Christians are intolerant of everybody! That's what everybody says so it must be true! ERGO it is totally okay to be intolerant toward them!

Oy.

Christians intolerant of everyone, huh? Gee, I was always taught to "love my neighbor", to despise the sin and love the sinner, judege not, lest I be judged myself, etc. etc. But that's not tolerance? :::eye roll:::

I know a religion that comes to mind immediately that is "intolerant of everybody" - I won't mention it by name though - yet liberals think nothing of apologizing for and supporting the actions of said religion :-P

Oy indeed!

I've come to the conclusion that liberals can't find anything real to complain about so they basically just make stuff up, or find something and twist it to fit their personal agendas.

It really shouldn't bother me as much as it does sometimes, but I'm kind of intolerant of stupidity ...oops ;)

Well, we live in a time where anyone is free to believe anything they want as long as they keep it to themselves. I mean, anything is fine in theory, but if you actually try and apply certain beliefs to real life, that's where the trouble comes in.

Of course, no one seems to realize that *everyone* does this, no matter what side of an issue they're on or what they believe. Everyone has an 'agenda', a worldview that they try to put forth - even if they don't realize that's what they're doing.

Because Christians are always trying to push their beliefs unto everyone else. "You're going to hell. Go to church, or you are the devil". How would you expect someone to react to that? I'm a total liberal, and I have Christians friends, I do not prosecute them for their beliefs, as they respect mine as well. They also respect seperation of church and state.

Exactly, that's the point I was trying to make. And as well, not all liberals are trying to push out your beliefs.
Why am I browsing through this community? Because I'm not close minded. I like to see both sides of the spectrum.

It certainly didn't come across that way.

And sorry for the deleted comment that you responded to. I hit post before I finished. Below is what I also intended to add.

What I have a problem with are those people who want/expect tolerance of their beliefs (or lack there of) yet get offended if a Christian even dares to publicly talk about their beliefs because they claim that it's being forced upon them. Which is totally self-centered and arrogant.

And just so you know because I just realized it, I am the same person who made the comment you originally responsed to. I made that comment several months ago from my other journal.

No, not ALL Christians are always pushing their beliefs on everyone else. Those who don't far out number those who do. I am a Christian and I never push my beliefs on anyone else. As a matter of fact I hate proselytizing of any kind. Good Christians are those who live through example.

And if you're a total liberal, what are you doing in a conservative community?

Of course there is nothing 'wrong' with loving God and being a Christian as long as you:
Don't pray openly.
Don't have any outward showing of your faith.
Don't tell people outside of your faith about your faith.
Don't show decorations during Christmas ... especially that very religious significant Christmas tree.
Don't carry your bible in public school.
Don't show your bible openly.
Don't talk about right and wrong.
Don't mention the 10 commandments.

Am I missing anything?

Yes!

It's also okay to be a Christian as long as you:

Don't teach your children to be Christians. <== OMG WARPING THEM 4LYFE
Don't say that you find Christianity to somehow be personally more worthwhile than any other religious philosophy, including atheism.
Make sure to never imply that any of your decisions or political opinions are in any way, shape or form influenced by your faith.
Don't condone or speak positively of any public religious figures.

I might be missing a few too =)

Leftists don't actually think that. They just get rather pissed off if you use your faith as a justification to advance the agenda of the right.

And yet Hillary says Jesus wouldn't want to keep the illegal immigrants out. So who's justifying what?

She's not justifying anything - she's trying to get across her point in language you idiots will understand.

Ah, there's the tolerance the left is so proud of.

And, no, it really doesn't make her point, because Jesus supported, you know, following the laws of your country. Meaning they should enter the U.S. legally. Maybe?

bloodytoxin: I agree whole-heartedly!

That was my point. The "separation of church and state"/exclusion of private moral values from politics isn't something they believe in unless their opponents want to include some church in state.

random question (ie: playing the devil's advocate...haha, no pun intended): why are you writing this in a conservative community that no liberals want to enter so they'll never read what you have to say?
